Monday Club

What Is Monday Club?

Bromham & Rowde Monday Club is friendly and welcoming. We meet each Monday (not Bank Holidays) from 9.30am to 1.00pm in the Clubhouse. Our members include older, and sometimes housebound or disabled people from Bromham, Rowde and the surrounding area.

What can I expect?

Members arrive from 9.30am and catch up with friends old and new over a cup of tea or coffee. There’s always quite a buzz and lots of laughter in the room as news is shared!

There is always a mid-morning activity – perhaps a quiz to keep the grey cells active, gentle exercises to keep body moving or maybe a sing-song to lift the spirits. Our extremely popular Bingo sessions, made more fun by our fantastic caller – Cathy – are not to be missed and, from time to time we have a visitor to entertain us with music or an interesting talk.

Then there is the all important two course, home cooked, hot meal to round the session off. Members currently pay £12.00 per session which covers the meal, tea/coffee and administration. We can provide transport for members who live in Bromham or Rowde for a small additional charge of £2 per week.

Some members may be eligible for the Wiltshire Council ‘Living Your Life Framework’ support and this covers their costs in full.

About Monday Club

The club began in 1984 and it is a registered charity. It is run by two part-time paid organisers who are supported by a committee and a brilliant team of volunteers. The Board of Trustees provides the overall management, support and strategic direction.
