After several months of negotiation we have now been given the go-ahead for a part-time Post Office service for the village. We have been able to secure the services of a Postmaster willing and able to offer 2 sessions in the Committee Room at the Social Centre. This will tie-in with the days they provide a similar service in Avebury and Foxham.
The days currently agreed for this service are Monday afternoons between 2p.m. - 4p.m. and Wednesday mornings 9.00 - 11.00.
It is hoped, that with B.T's assistance, this service will be up and running mid November with the initial date being the 14th. Just in time for Christmas!
The services on offer will include:-
Postal Services including Parcel Post and Overseas Postage
Access to State Pension Payments
Post office card account
Cash deposits and withdrawals via chip and pin
Postal orders
Moneygram
Electronic bill payments
E top~ups
Euros and other Foreign Currencies (can be pre-ordered ready for collection)
This service has been desperately needed in the village and trust it will be well supported on the available days in order to keep it up and running. Thanks must be given to the Social Centre Committee in agreeing to certain requests in order for the Post Office Outreach to be sustainable. This could not happen without their support and foresight. Thanks also to the Parish Council for agreeing to take this forward and not giving up!
